For many young people, learning to be a technical support specialist can be a valuable first step on the path to long-term career success in IT.

Everest College of Business, Technology and Health Care’s campus in Kitchener, Ontario, currently offers a six-month Technical Support Specialist career education program that provides students with the background, knowledge and training to service common computer systems and support their users. Students will study the theory of computer systems, made familiar with popular Microsoft business applications and trained in hardware installation and configuration, system support and optimization, basic networking and help desk techniques.

Courses include:

  • Managing and Maintaining PCs (A+)
  • Network+
  • Integration Project – Phase 1 and 2

The Everest program also teaches students the art of help desk customer service. Through hands-on lab work and role-playing, students get to learn how to successfully deal with often-frustrated clients and walk them through the steps necessary to solve their computer problems.

Graduates are qualified to compete for positions as:

  • Computer technicians
  • Technical support specialists
