Congratulations! You passed your first interview with flying colors and you're elated about the call to schedule the second interview. You can feel good and rejoice because the company is definitely interested in you; otherwise, they wouldn't have called.
However, before you go out and buy a complete new wardrobe, you might want to nail down the essentials to help secure an offer.
Get an Itinerary for the Second Interview Agenda
The second interview might take up an entire day, or it may not. In any event, you may have to meet with a number of mangers, staff members or executives. So it helps to know the itinerary up front.
Do the Research
Research and then research some more. And when you're done, continue to research! It's a big plus if you're extremely knowledgeable about the company you hope to work for. If you have a friend at the company, get all the insider information you can about management and the company in general.
Brush Up on Responses and Interview Questions
Go over the questions and your responses from the first interview in your mind. You can never tell if one or two of those questions will be asked again. Take time and practice. You should feel knowledgeable and at ease with all of your responses.
Dress for the Occasion
Should you dress for success? Well, success is a relative term and has a different meaning for practically everyone. The best approach is to dress professionally. Once you land the job, you can adapt to the company's present dress code.
Forgot Something to Ask or Say?
The second interview is the perfect place and time to mention something you may have passed over in the first interview.
