Computer skills are a must in the modern office. And knowing common business software can mean the difference between getting your first job and months of professional frustration.
Undoubtedly the most popular brand of business software in Canada — and the world — is Microsoft. Some version of Microsoft Office is found in 80 percent of offices worldwide, with 64 percent using Office 2007, according to a June 2009 report by Forrester Research.*
If you're not yet up to speed on Microsoft Office and its components, you can get the education you need to satisfy the requirements of many entry-level business positions at the Brampton campus of Everest College of Business, Technology and Health Care. The school's Computer Business Applications Specialist program provides intensive hands-on instruction and practice in all components of Microsoft Office, including:
- Word
- Excel
- Access
- PowerPoint
- Outlook
Graduates can get ongoing job-search support from Everest's career service representatives, who help with identifying and contacting local employers.
Students who complete Everest's Computer Business Applications Specialist program often go on to get jobs as:
- Administrative Assistants
- Assistant Managers
- Office Support Personnel
